Business Support Manager

  • Vacancy Working Pattern:
    Full Time

In a nutshell

You may already be working as an Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant supporting a senior leader and know their diary and working week inside out. Twiddling your thumbs would be your worst nightmare – you thrive on juggling multiple priorities, staying one step ahead, and keeping everything running seamlessly.

Colleagues would describe you as efficient, diligent, approachable, and the person who simply gets things done. This is a significant role within a fast-paced environment and not one for the faint hearted. However, for the right person, it offers real variety, challenge, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact. No two days will be the same – and that’s exactly what you’re looking for.

What you'll be doing day to day

  • Act as a trusted support to the Head of Tax, proactively managing priorities and progressing key actions on their behalf.
  • Manage complex diaries and logistical arrangements, ensuring meetings are effectively planned, coordinated, and supported.
  • Work closely with the Head of Tax and Tax Operational Leads to coordinate strategic projects and help deliver key departmental objectives.
  • Organise internal and external meetings and events, preparing agendas, presentations, supporting materials, and minutes where required.
  • Liaise confidently with Partners, Heads of Department, and colleagues across the firm, building strong relationships and driving effective outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation to support strategic decision-making and operational priorities.
  • Provide line management and support to the Tax Business Support team, encouraging development and high performance.
  • Attend Partnership and departmental meetings, ensuring actions, decisions, and follow-up activities are accurately recorded and progressed.

About you

  • You take ownership of your workload and consistently deliver to deadlines
  • You handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, integrity, and professionalism
  • You’re a confident communicator who builds strong relationships and works collaboratively with senior stakeholders
  • Previous experience within professional services is advantageous but not essential
  • You’re confident using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and are quick to learn new systems
  • You demonstrate initiative, strong problem‑solving skills, and excellent attention to detail
  • You can prioritise effectively and manage multiple competing demands with strong organisational skills
  • You’re flexible, proactive, and comfortable adapting to change in a fast‑moving environment
  • Ideally educated to A Level (or equivalent), with grades A–C / 5–9 in Maths and English
  • A full driving licence and access would be highly preferred
