In a nutshell

We’re looking for an Employment Tax Director to play a pivotal role in the strategic growth and leadership of our Employment Tax practice.

Driven by increasing client demand, this role is suited to an experienced employment tax leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong commercial instincts, client leadership, and a clear focus on business development.

As a Director, you’ll lead complex, high‑value advisory engagements, act as a trusted adviser to senior clients, and work closely with partners to shape and execute the future growth strategy of our Employment Tax offering.

You’ll advise across the full spectrum of employment tax matters (including PAYE, NICs, benefits‑in‑kind, IR35, global mobility, and reward strategy) while playing a central role in developing new services, expanding market presence, and building long‑term client relationships.

What you'll be doing day to day

  • Leading and overseeing complex, high‑risk employment tax advisory engagements
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, boards, and committees
  • Driving business development, including originating new work, expanding existing relationships, and increasing market presence
  • Shaping and executing the Employment Tax growth strategy alongside partners
  • Identifying and developing new service offerings in response to client and market needs
  • Advising on high‑value matters such as IR35, global mobility, and reward planning
  • Overseeing HMRC enquiries, audits, and employment tax risk reviews
  • Supporting M&A activity, including employment tax due diligence and post‑deal integration
  • Developing, mentoring, and inspiring senior team members and future leaders

About you

  • ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Extensive experience in UK employment tax at a Director level.
  • Proven track record of leading client relationships and delivering complex advisory work
  • Strong business development capability, with experience growing revenue and services
  • Commercial and strategic thinker with excellent leadership and influencing skills
  • Collaborative leadership style with a passion for building and growing high‑performing teams
