IT Cyber Security & Assurance Technician

What you'll be doing day to day

Working autonomously and alongside IT Cyber Security colleagues you will:

  • Lead cybersecurity assessments, adhering to Cyber Essentials and Cyber Assurance Standards.
  • Conduct and interpret web app and vulnerability scanning and reporting.
  • Build and maintain an awareness of information security standards such as NIST CSF and ISO27001.
  • Collaborate with Financial Audit colleagues to evaluate IT systems supporting key financial processes, ensuring continuous improvement in audit quality.
  • Perform daily IT assurance tasks, contributing throughout the entire delivery lifecycle from planning to reporting.
  • Work effectively as a team member by providing support, maintaining communication, and updating senior team members and management on progress.
  • Ensure client deliverables are timely and meet expected standards.

About you

  • Previous experience in an IT technician/support or IT security position.
  • Willingness to learn and continuously expand knowledge in IT audit, information security, and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Agile mindset and comfortable adapting to changing technologies and environments.
  • Ability to build client relationships based on trust and responsibility.
  • Highly skilled in using Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong analytical skills for critical thinking, research, and problem-solving.
  • Embrace remote working and digital tools to deliver services.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK as required.

  • CREST Registered Penetration Tester
  • CREST Certified Infrastructure Tester
  • Cyber Scheme Team Member (CSTM)
  • Cyber Scheme Team Leader (CSTL)
  • EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA)
  • EC-Council Certified Penetration Testing Professional (CPENT)
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
