Private Client Tax Manager

This includes working with trusts and high-net-worth (HNW) individuals. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive top-tier service, leveraging your expertise to navigate complex tax matters and provide insightful advice.

What you'll be doing day to day

  • Look after a portfolio of cases, including some trusts as well as high net worth individuals
  • Drafting reports and letters providing tax advice including IHT planning, residence and domicile
  • Meeting with clients to ascertain and advise on their tax planning needs
  • Undertake CGT advice on property, shares etc for both UK resident and non-UK resident individuals
  • Reviewing the work of more junior staff and contributing to their professional learning and development
  • Providing and managing compliance services including preparing and reviewing self-assessment tax returns and computations
  • Actively seeking opportunities to promote other departments within in the firm, and in particular the services of our financial planning colleagues
  • Request, collate and maintain client information
  • Correspond and deal confidently with client enquires
  • Maintain direct contact with clients, HMRC, solicitors, other accountancy, law and professional services firms, in the delivery of an excellent client service

About you

  • Previous experience in a tax compliance and advisory role and drafting reports
  • ATT or CTA qualified (or equivalent) with up-to-date technical knowledge
  • Understanding of compliance standards imposed by the various regulatory authorities for tax
  • Organised and able to plan time efficiently in order to meet deadlines 
  • Professional and discreet in demonstrating client care, with the ability to build rapport quickly with clients
